HIVE PACK HOOPS

ABOUT HIVE PACK HOOPS

Hive Pack Hoops was created to develop interest in basketball to players at a young age and provide an avenue for them to best improve in a developmentally-appropriate  and developmentally-optimal atmosphere. Our approach aligns closely with the USA Basketball Youth Development Guidelines, originally published in 2013, as well as with the philosophies of the CLA and Transforming Basketball.

The name Hive Pack Hoops comes from the melding of our two former winter team programs, the Iowa Honeybees and the Iowa Howlers, into one development-focused program, open to the any family in the Des Moines area.

We would highly recommend the Hive Pack Hoops program to families looking to grow their player’s skill set and knowledge of the game.  Our boys both started basketball at a very “beginner” level and we pushed regular attendance of the skills sessions, 3x3 sessions and the regular Hive Pack Hoops seasons.   We have seen remarkable growth in skills, but more importantly, in confidence with both of our boys.  Matt and his team run a very well-organized and disciplined practice/sessions that our boys look forward to attending.  If you’re looking for an alternative to the current culture of youth basketball in the metro, give Hive Pack Hoops a look.
